Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! :)

So I just thought I would say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone and I hope you have a safe holiday. Be looking for videos starting in 2010 (I know I said that about Christmas cards but it has truly been a mad house around here) BUT... hopefully I will be getting a new camera for Christmas and my room will be done (I will post pics) and I will start making videos soon. Ok real quick last minute idea, if you got someone a gift card. Very easy make your own holder the sizes for a standard gift card is 5 3/4" x 4" scored on the 5 3/4" side at 1 1/4" and flip and score at 2". Decorate anyway you want. I personally made 5 of them my self all different ways and colors. Ok Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a GREAT HOLIDAY and Happy Crafting! :)

Last Nights Card Measurements

Ok here are the measurements to the card video I posted last night, 1 correction though is I made the original card 5" x 7" and scored it in half the card on the video is a 3 1/2" x 10" scored at 5", personally I like the 5" x 7" but who knows how you like it ?:) Ok the measurements:

Red Cardstock, 2 3/4" x 5"
Green Cardstock, 2 1/2" x 5"
Small Red Cardstock, 1 1/8" x 1 1/2"
Small Vanilla Cardstock, 1" x 1 3/8

Ok be looking for a new video soon. I am going to be painting my room this week so maybe I will have some order soon and a craft desk again.

Good news and Bad news

Ok well the good news is I have a new video up the bad news is I have no measurements for the card. I told you about my mouse incident well... with that and the moving of my room I lost my sheet of paper for the measurements of the card... I know it is a 5" x 7" scored in half but as for the rest I am not sure... tomorrow I will find a ruler and get you the actual measurements... I also did not add any captions so I will try to explain somewhat of what I did, the shiny red and gold paper is actually old gift bags my sister and brother in-law got for there birthday... I snagged them and used a 1" circle punch to punch out the "ornaments"... I then used my cuttlebug swirls embossing folder and embossed the circles... Next I glued the circles down and using a paper piercer I punched some holes and threaded ribbon through then tied a bow right at the top of the ornament... the rest I think is pretty self explanatory but if you have any questions please let me know via a comment or an e-mail... my life has been turned upside down lately so I will try to get some order and start doing better videos in the near future. As always I hope you have a great day of crafting and have a great day.

Update

Did you have a good Thanksgiving?... Well I guess by now you have realized I am a little behind in my Christmas cards. I had a lot of things happen all at once and just never got a chance to post any videos or really record any videos for that matter. Ok first my sister just got marry (congrats) and I was a bridesmaid so I was busy with that (but ok I knew about that) I had planned around that... Well I had a small visitor in my room... I was sitting there watching one of my favorite shows (MacGvyer) and I look up at my mouse cage (did I mention I have a pet mouse?) and sitting beside the cage is a mouse I have never seen and hello I know I only own 1 pet mouse... So my family and I are up til about 4am trying to catch the stupid thing and we didn't, long story short we finally catch the stupid thing a week later... now the mouse was adorable and I didn't mind it the problem was I could not use my room because we were trying to catch the thing... So needless to say I have been craft less for about 3 weeks now... and with my sister getting married I am between two rooms, her stuff is in my old room with all my craft stuff and my computer is in her old room (my new bigger room yea!) so it will be a long time before I get to any videos... So if you read the blog don't give up I am still here and will be working on videos soon... Plus I used my sisters camera to record my videos so now with out that I am also going to have to figure something out... But a good note my birthday is next Friday so (yea!!!) I may get a new camera... I will keep you updated... SO anyway as always Happy crafting and Have a great day!

Hi all! I just finished doing a video on a standing calendar, I invented this for Christmas presents, I know, I know it's too early for Christmas but never for me :) especially when you need time to make homemade gifts.

To make the calendar I started by designing a 2" x 3" calendar in Microsoft Publisher (or you can download the calendar in the supply list), then I cut out the sheets with a x-acto knife, Stack the papers on top of each other and cut a piece of 2" x 3" piece of cardstock, line up all pieces of paper and using binder clips Clip the 2 sides together run a dab of glue (I used alenes tacky glue) down the top edge, clean up the edges, bind the top with 2 more binder clips and let it dry you will end up with a calendar that when you peel off one of the sheets they will still hold together you can also do this with larger sheets and make a notepad. Although I did not make the calendar in the video I will post some pictures at the end so you can get an Idea of what I am talking about... I also want to say that the idea of gluing the paper was NOT my idea I found it on another persons blog and for the life of me can not remember who, I will try to find out and give them full credit.Well I hope you like the video be looking for more videos of Christmas gifts coming soon! Have a great day and Happy Crafting!

Here is what you will need:
Cardboard 3 3/4" x 4" ( I just used some cardboard from a old box I had)
Cardstock 3 1/2" x 3 3/4"
Cardstock 1 1/2" x 8 1/2" - Scored at 3 1/4" - 4 1/4" - 5 1/4"
Patterned Paper 4 3/4" x 5" (The pattern paper I am using here is SimplyFab collection - Maddi Paisley by Making Memories)
Calendar 2" x 3" (you can download the calendar in black here - or a pink one here)
Scallop Circle punch ( I use the punch by marvy uchida, from Michaels)
1" Circle Punch
Stamp Butterfly Scroll by Inkadinkado ( I was so excited to find they are selling these at my target :) yah! and only $1.49 how could you beat it!
1/8" Adhesive Tape ( I found this on one of my favorite websites for ordering BlockHeadStamps I love this stuff)
Mini Pop Dots ( The ones I am using can be found here)

New Video :)

Hey I know it has been a while (a long while) but I finally have 2 new videos up... I have to hang my camera over my craft desk to record the video... well I got rid of the stand I was using to hold the camera so... My dad made me a stand that hooks to my desk and is fully adjustable to hold the camera but now I am on the search for a better camera... mine works well enough but yesterday while filming the card video it just shut down on me arrgh... and on top of that I have a cold so not the best condition to be filming videos but I ended up using my parents video camera for the card... Ok so last week my family and I went down to Williamsburg and we went to the pottery... they have gobs of silk flowers and at a great price too... I picked up a twig of sorts of pink and white flowers thinking I could take the flowers off and use them on cards and scrapbook pages (this is a great way to get cheap flowers just go to walmart and pick up a couple of flower rods and pull the flowers right off you get a ton)... well when I got them home I didn't like how they looked so I re-invented them... using fabric paint and glitter you can really get a fun new look that matches anything... I did them in orange for the video but if you watch the card video I made using the flowers at the end I will show you how I made pink and purple ones too... Ok next the card is just really simple but so elegant looking. Here is what you will need:

Base card (orange in my case but use any color you want), 5" x 7" card stock folded in 1/2
Black Card stock 4 3/4" x 3 1/4"
Orange Card stock 4 1/2" x 3"
Black Cad stock 2" x 1 1/4"
Orange Card stock 1 7/8" x 1 1/8"
White Card stock 1 3/4" x 1", stamped with a greeting
Black ribbon, just enough to wrap around the card stock

Ok I hope you enjoy the videos and have a great day and keep crafting! Please leave a comment or if you have any questions email me :)

P.S. Be looking for more videos soon now that I have a camera stand back.

For the baby blocks I cut small 1/2" x 1/2" squares and stamped the letters with small letter stamps (I gotta tell you I collect these alphabet stamps I get them at Michael's for $1 Love em!) Then I just draw a block around the letters. The picture I printed off my computer and I layered it on to Light Blue and Dark Blue Card stock, I finished it off with a small line of ribbon. New Craft is here ; )

Ok so I really can't take credit for this craft...I got the idea from another website, Ok so anyway you take freezer paper (I could only find a 150 FOOT!!!! roll I will be doing this FOREVER!!!!) but any way I digress you can print a picture (when printing, the paper is so thin that you really should tape the top and sides to a piece of printer paper don't make my mistake and jam your printer for 15 min. while you try to dig it out of the printer) or you can draw a picture on the paper side of the freezer paper. Then using an x-acto knife cut your design out...I used a butterfly picture and cut out the little butterfly's but it works with anything design (as long as you don't sell the item you can use free downloads of Dingbat Fonts which is what I am going to be doing) ok sorry...You take the freezer paper that you have cut your design out of and place it on a T-shirt or a bag or anything really that is material or canvas... Using an iron set to cotton, iron on the freezer paper wax side down it will stick instantly...Then you take fabric paint and paint over your image, but make sure to put a piece of cardboard inside so the paint doesn't bleed through now you don't have to be careful just kinda slop it on and then let it dry...now the only hint I have for you is to put on a thin coat of the paint, and then if you are impatient like me you can use a heat gun to dry it faster... Iron your image from the inside to set it making sure to use a piece of cardboard to keep it from bleeding through. Than enjoy your new piece of art... I will be posting pics. later so check back to see. If you have any questions leave a comment and I will get back to you. Have a great day of crafting.

Bummer : (

I had said I was going to post a video on how to do a Tubular Peyote Bracelet... Well I started the video and started the bracelet got half way done and the bracelet looked awful the problem was I was using some cut glass seed beads I had gotten from Walmart and they were all different sizes, so it really made the bracelet look funny so I have decided to throw it out and get some new beads from Auntie's Beads later and I will try to do a video at a later time... I will post a picture of the bracelet I did a couple of days ago that did work. but to stay with my jewelry Wednesdays I am going to make a pair of earrings instead so be looking for that tomorrow. Well I hope you have a great Tuesday! : ) and if you live on the East Coast like me I hope you stay warm. with all the snow and ice we have been having today.
